Hattie Duke and Bridget Rowan invite you to join them on a woodland wellness exploration over 3 weekly sessions. Are you ready for the adventure?

Hattie Duke currently works as a nature-based facilitator and mother of twins. After exploring the world she has settled into being guardian of a woodland here. She is fascinated by people’s stories and finding ways to internal and external peace through remembering our connection with nature.

Bridget Rowan is a long time yoga teacher, sound therapist, aromatherapist and nature lover and brings all of her skills and experience to awaken your spirit to the glorious uniqueness and wonder of you.

Holy Days Hedgerow Communion 2024

With Simon Lockett and Bridget Rowan

Winter Solstice 2024

As the sun enters the sign of Capricorn this is Winter Solstice, marking the shortest day and longest night and the end of the darkest part of the year. Solstice means standstill and it’s an opportunity to stop and look backwards and inwards, reflecting on the seeds we have been incubating in the dark and forwards to a new active growth season and the sun’s increasing power. Winter Solstice is a celebration of the rebirth of the sun and ourselves. The cycle of the year guides us through all the changes in nature and ourselves, through dark/rest and light/active and all that comes in-between and around again. It is a time for birthing our visions and ideas. Our ancestors celebrated this day by decorating their homes and spaces with evergreens, holly, ivy, mistletoe, yew and pine, making wreaths symbolising the wheel of the year, gathering together to exchange gifts, feast, dance and make merry with music, stories, plays, poetry and song.

Come and join Simon Lockett and Bridget Rowan to celebrate Winter Solstice with a Hedgerow Communion and yogic meditation on Saturday 21st December 3pm at Little Mountain. Wrap up warm & bring a drum or rattle if you have one.

Directions: go to Dorstone from Peterchurch, take the left turn that comes off the main road to Hay, just outside and to the west of the village signed Drovers Rest. Take the right fork near Mynyddhrdd, then the next right. Keep going up the track and go straight on at the top onto a dirt track. Follow this until you come to a lake on the left on common land. Park a bit further on. Walk to the left on a path through bracken to the high point of Little Mountain. (OS coordinates SO 28212 42409) (Google maps; 3XG3+85J The Bage, Hereford)

All are welcome and bring your own spirituality.
